Week 29

March 28, 2014 10:56 a.m.

Dear Readers,

So, it’s the beginning of tech week. And that means next week is dress rehearsal week. And that means opening night is a week from tomorrow! I’m excited and nervous and anxious and happy and sad all at the same time. This week has been a little crazy, but nothing compared to what next week will be like. I’ll be practically living at the school until the show is over, and that means it’s going to be really hard to go to the Y. Weeks like this are when I’ll have to be ...

In the Box Weeks 38 & 39

March 25, 2014 9:28 a.m.

Finally I have a little time to sit down and get caught up with my journal. First for the weight management; Week 38 I lost 1.9 pounds, Week 39 gained 1. Sounds like a yo-yo to me, but when I look back at my journals, frequently I would yo-yo while following the program. I figure I am still ahead of the game.

This coming week I am transitioning to Phase II. Phase II means I can eat what I want applying the lessons I have learned in class. I am going to supplement with HMR products as I still ...

Week 28

March 21, 2014 1:55 p.m.

Dear Readers,

Finding new ways to workout makes getting active so much easier!

In other news, (extremely exciting news ...

Week 27

March 17, 2014 2:45 p.m.

Dear Readers,

This week has been really great so far: minimal stress, rehearsals are going well, and not too much homework. All in all a bit relaxed. The most exciting thing I’ve done is attend a cardio kickboxing class with my friend Gracie. And let me tell you- that was crazy. I was sore for days and the school secretary was there and totally showing us up. So, rather than delve into my embarrassing lack of kickboxing skill, I’ve decided to give you a “tour” of my lunchbox. I figured that suggesting you eat healthy can only get ...

In the Box Weeks 36 & 37

March 10, 2014 9:13 a.m.

I made it back from Baton Rouge last week, and have been in the “getting-back-in-the-grind mode” since, so this is the first opportunity I could collect my thoughts and jot them down. While in LA., I fell off the wagon and "Out Of The Box," but not too terribly bad. At every restaurant, I found items that I have been schooled about in my weight management class and could fit in shakes without problems. I first “caved in” on day three when I saw the pastry at Le Madeline’s Café. I can still taste the French Chicken Pot Pie ...
