Past weight management programs for me have usually bombed on the weekend. But not today. I was able to get in all my shakes, fluids, soup and exercise.
I got to the bank this morning and signed up for a new ATM card. They showed me a flyer from which I could select different scenes/designs. One was a beach scene, but it reminded me of Florida where my money remains, so I picked one with a flag. I really wanted something with a gun that said, "Unauthorized use of card will result immediate execution." Or maybe one with flames that says, "Do you know where people go who steal?"
We needed to go to Mattoon today and since it was raining I decided to walk at the mall again. When we got there, a flea market was in progress, but there was enough room for me to get in a good walk. There were certain spots that I passed a little quicker like the Amish baked goods booth, the fudge table and one place that smelled like cotton candy really got to me until I realized it was just Bath and Body...
Ray went with me so we decided to eat out and we picked the Chinese restaurant at the mall. He ordered the BUFFET and I ordered diet Pepsi and hot tea thinking that I would repeat my "order tea and use the water to make soup" idea. When the tea arrived, it was already brewed.
I had a vanilla shake mix with me so I put it in the Pepsi for a vanilla Pepsi. I added the powder and started stirring and all of a sudden the mixture was a baking soda and vinegar volcano experiment. The drink was foaming over the glass, and I was about in panic mode. Ray saved the day by suggesting I drink from the bottom using the straw and it worked. But I drank almost all the Pepsi from the bottom leaving a gravy on top. I didn't want to ask for more Pepsi, so I dumped the hot tea in and the volcano died. And I drank it and it wasn't too bad. I guess that old saying: Remember if your horse goes to fast, you mustang on....
All in all I had a great Saturday including getting in some playtime with my grandson, Hunter. I made a shake when I got home using vanilla, orange flavoring, Splenda and ice. It was very refreshing like a dreamcicle.
I love hearing from everyone, especially ideas for shakes. I honestly have not felt hungry with this program. It is easy to prepare (though today was a little challenging) and very portable. My blood sugars have been great and I actually have some energy. It is also good to hear when fellow programmers are getting new smaller clothes.
I hope you all have a peaceful Sunday tomorrow and until then I am In The Box.
