Mary Weaver is on weight loss journey with HMR, a clinically monitored weight management program through Sarah Bush Lincoln, and is sharing her experience with our community. She resides in Neoga with her husband, Ray.

Day 19

Back to work today after a relaxing enjoyable weekend. I had my usual chocolate mocha coffee for breakfast, peanut butter, peach and lemon shakes rounded out the day. I keep waiting to get hungry, but it is not happening. I feel really good.

After work I took a walk and added an additional route of one mile for a total of four miles in 70 minutes. I was walking with my CD player and at one point I got really hot, so I decided to stop for one song. That song was "Blueberry Hill" and it lasted three minutes, but I was wishing his "thrill" had lasted another minute or two. I am switching my start and stop points as my support staff said they, whoever "they" are, have found minor changes in your walking routine causes use of different muscles which will allow for burning of more fat. It is believed you can max out muscle fat burn doing the same activity. Have I said how much I love my support team? During my walk, I found a dime and was almost run over by an out-of-state lady backing up very quickly from a drive. I kept the dime and the lady apologized for almost taking me out.

Also mid-walk my hands were sweating and I was in a real power move swinging my arms for a little extra burn when I lost my grip on my CD player. It went flying as if thrown by a Greek athlete at the discus throw Olympics. Now it will not play the first track of my CDs. I have to remember to bring my I POD home.

I remain very positive about my program and am looking forward to seeing my pals on Thursday, as we didn't meet last week due to the holiday.

Thanks to my daughter, Deana, who set my pedometer for me. Hi to Cindy. Next time I am at Sam Dale, why don't you come up and roast a hot dog, and I will have a shake. Thanks to all for encouragement and support it means a lot to me.

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery! I am In The Box.
