Today I had some problems with feeling dizzy when I stood up. Speed didn't seem to have anything to do with it. I checked my blood pressure and it was 112/48. I also checked my blood sugar and it was 81. I checked in with Kim, the program APN, and I can reduce by Metformin (diabetes med) in half. I have already halfed the blood pressure medication.
I was thinking, which sometimes gets me in trouble, that if I stay the course, I may get to go off both meds. That would be terrific! I think that would be incentive enough to keep the weight off this time.
Before the "real" work get started at work, one of the staff members was talking about weight loss. She said this year she had made a New Year's resolution to loose 20 pounds and only has 30 to go. I got a chuckle out of that, but know exactly how that feels.
This weekend we are to go camping with some of my cousins, and I am looking forward to it. I was thinking about some of the stuff we used to do when we were kids. One Sunday my cousin Mark and I were riding a pony, Beauty, when we decided we needed to ride her into our Grandma’s (Mom Woolever's) dining room. I don't know how we decided who got to ride the pony, but I held the doors open and Mark was the rider. Pretty much nobody got upset, and in fact one of the adults made her a mashed potato sandwich, which she loved. Mark rode her into the front room to turn her around and we went back outside. Fun times, huh Mark?
I finally talked Ray into going on a bike ride with me tonight. I can't believe the excuse he used to quit early....a flat tire two blocks from home. I guess I forgive him. I got in an hour and what a nice evening it was to be outside.
How can "A Slim Chance" and "A Fat Chance" be the same?
