Another day in the books and in the box. My shakes and I had another good day. Today after lunch I was feeling chilly, so I had some chicken soup. It hit the spot, warmed me up and is available to replace a shake if I want. I remain amazed that I have not become tired of the shakes. I have a blender that is able to make the shakes the consistency of ice cream, and I do love my ice cream.
I was surfing the net and looking for information about food and found a couple of interesting things. A 20-ounce bottle of Mountain Dew contains the equivalent of about 22 packets of sugar. I always thought it was the caffeine that juiced me up, but it’s the sugar. Who knew? Another fact is that lack of sleep leads to sugar cravings. I know I have fed that craving many a time.
Our group had an assignment for this week. We were to break our physical activity (exercise) into more than one session. I was able to get in a 15-minute walk at work on my break in the morning, and after work I went to the mall to walk as it was raining cats and dogs. I walked 45 minutes at a pretty good clip. I have been riding my bike instead of walking, and believe I will start alternating because I could feel that I was using different muscle groups. By the time I finished walking, I was feeling a little weird…okay more than the usual weird. When I got home my blood sugar was 77. I had my last shake of the day (Peach Mango) and started feeling better. I wonder if I can get off my diabetes medication. I sure hope so.
Over the weekend I bought a new seat for my bike. It is a rectangular seat without the pointy part in front. After I got it adjusted I really liked it. I found it at K-Mart.
I am picking up my granddaughters after work tomorrow and they will be with me for six days. Should the weather hold, I am sure they will help me get in lots of physical activity and make me have sugar cravings….just kidding.
Before marriage a man yearns for the woman he loves. After marriage, the “y” becomes silent.
