I had an exciting day! Yesterday I had lab work and today saw my doctor and reviewed the studies. ALL my labs were NORMAL. That news has made the weight management program worth every delicious shake I have had over the last 82 days. I realize the hard part is yet to come, keeping it off, but at this point I am optimistic that I am getting the tools to use to give it the good old college try. I weighed-in today and lost 3.8 lbs making a little over 40 lbs total in 82 days.
In class today we discussed journaling what we eat and the importance of tracking the "add ons." A hamburger is a burger, but when you add the mayo and all the fixings it is easy to under estimate your true intake. There are a couple of good apps on cell phones that make it easy to keep track. One is My Fitness Pal, and the other is Lose It. I used to use My Fitness Pal and it is really helpful to track calories. It is also web based so you are good to go if you don't have a smart phone.
Yesterday I wrote about jogging on the treadmill and how good I felt after. Well at 3 am, I woke up and EVERYTHING hurt....hello lactic acid! I have survived and was happy that is has been the only time that I have had exercise aches and pains. I did not make it to the Y tonight as my class didn't get out until 6:30 pm, so I have a night off. My friend Mary commented on yesterdays post and it was perfect. Thanks Mary.
