Hey readers! It’s me, Allie, and I’m going to tell you about my awesome week! New things are beginning and new things are around every corner.
So, this week, my dad cooked the sunshine squash we got at the pumpkin patch! He is a pretty creative guy, and he decided to make it into soup as opposed to baking it in the oven. The soup was totally AMAZING. My dad is a really great cook, and he always likes to try new things in the kitchen. Now, he can be pretty secretive about his recipes, but I’ll try and wrestle the soup recipe out of him to share with y’all.
Not only did I experience a delicious new food this week, but I also began one of my favorite activities! Scholastic Bowl started today! Now, I know that probably sounds a little geeky. However, I can assure you that it is definitely not. ☺ I mean, okay, maybe a little. But I absolutely love it! I have been a part of a scholastic bowl team since the fourth grade, and I can’t imagine school without it. Since I am a junior this year, my teammates and I have been moved up to varsity. That means a new coach, new teammates, and new challenges. I’m really excited, despite the uncharted territory ahead. Everything is going smoothly, and my new organizational goal is to stay one step ahead of the game! The beginning of a new season means time out of my schedule, but making sure I have my homework done early and start on projects ahead of time is really helping me avoid stress. ☺
Squash soup, no stress, and Scholastic Bowl- what could be better?
