Week 2

It’s been a pretty crazy week so far- the air conditioning was out at school and I’m pretty sure I sweated off at least five pounds! Not the healthiest way to lose weight, but hey, better than nothing! I’ve been swamped with projects, poems, and plenty of meetings. The highlight of my week so far was definitely Powder Puff! It’s such a fun way to burn some calories, get some exercise, and laugh until you can’t breathe. There’s nothing better than doing something fun that benefits your health. ☺

My week has also been enhanced by the lunches I’ve brought to school. Pumpkin pie yogurt happens to be a favorite of mine, a calcium-rich, low-calorie favorite, and it goes great with homemade chicken salad! It’s really important to make sure you’re getting enough calcium to build up strength in your bones, because once you’re an adult you can’t do anything but maintain what you’ve got! Along with my tasty (and healthy) lunches, I’ve been playing soccer in P. E. and would like to give a big thumbs up to my teacher for letting us scrimmage! I really enjoy playing sports in class because goodness knows I’d get whipped in an actual soccer game!

In other news, Homecoming dress shopping is definitely on my radar, and hopefully eating healthy, Powder Puff, and trips to the Y will give me a little more confidence while trying on dresses! One of my favorite quotes is, “The best accessory a girl can own is her confidence,” and I’m giving myself back that confidence! I’ve got an awesome date, I get to go to TWO Homecomings, and I’m getting healthy so I can feel and look great. Being proud of myself is the best feeling. I’m going to continue working toward my goals and building my confidence!
