Week 29

Dear Readers,

So, it’s the beginning of tech week. And that means next week is dress rehearsal week. And that means opening night is a week from tomorrow! I’m excited and nervous and anxious and happy and sad all at the same time. This week has been a little crazy, but nothing compared to what next week will be like. I’ll be practically living at the school until the show is over, and that means it’s going to be really hard to go to the Y. Weeks like this are when I’ll have to be extra careful about what I eat, and make sure I get enough rest (I do NOT want a repeat of the bronchitis I had last spring musical).

Aside from getting ready for the show, nothing much is going on, although, I did get the chance to encourage two of my friends who are trying to get healthier. Both girls are beautiful and strong, they are just looking for a way to gain some confidence in their bodies. I gave them the tips I give you: 8 glasses of water, avoid breads, sugars, and starches, workout about 3 times a week, and think positive! These two really want to make a change, and I admire that. People who complain about their appearance but won’t do anything to change it will never get where they want to be, but taking initiative and getting healthy will put you on the road to success. My friends that asked for advice also told me that I encourage them with my success and hearing things like that make me want to strive to be better and work harder.

Oh, and just another small victory, today I had to give my measurements to my guidance counselor in front of three of the most athletic and beautiful girls I know, and I didn’t even hesitate. Never has there been a time when I would have boldly stated my weight in front of girls like that, but today? Today I was strong.
