Dear Readers,

So I told you I would be thinking about my goals for this year, and I have been. Some are more personal, but the ones I think you'd be interested in are:

  • Lose 15lbs by the end of 1st semester
  • Better develop a healthy eating plan as a lifestyle (because everyone knows diets are hard to keep)
  • Run at least one more 5k this year (I would add more than that but I don't know how much time I'll have to train!)
  • Find a consistent work out buddy

School starts in two days. And this isn't just any school year, no. No. It's SENIOR year. The last year I lie at home and can develop healthy habits to carry with me to college an throughout my life.

Dear Readers,

So the shoes that I showed you last week? I thought you'd be interested to know that those were my first new pair of tennis shoes in five years! Not that my parents refused to get me any new ones, but every time we went back to school shopping I would refuse to look at tennis shoes, insisting I keep the same pair as long as I could get some more cute clothes. That just shows how much my priorities had changed within the last year!

Week 47

Dear Readers,

Well, I've been running every day but one this week and it's awesome. I've found ways to mix it up (music, no music, taking my dog, going alone, etc) and I've found that it's one of my favorite moments of the day. I get to be alone with my thoughts and just push myself to do my best and work harder.

I've also been making a smoothie for breakfast each morning and I'll give you the recipe because it's fantastic!

Dear Readers,

So the race was on Saturday. And how did it go, you ask? FANTASTIC.

It was an amazing feeling to run the entire time and finish without feeling like it would take a month to recover! I was so proud of myself, my sister, and my mom. Running that 5k gave me such a feeling of accomplishment that I can't wait to run another one.

Dear Readers,

I'm SO excited! Saturday is the day! I'll be running my third 5k with FitGirls and it's gonna be awesome. The girls have been working hard, and you know how I mentioned I wanted to start running on my own? Well, I have been! Last week I ran about 1.5 miles everyday, up until the end of the week when I started running two miles.

Dear Readers,

So the biggest thing I have going right now is FitGirls, and it's awesome (Aside from dumping a whole yogurt parfait on a girl's lap...)! I ran two whole miles with the girls on Wednesday, and 1.39 on Monday.

The girls are so kind and hard working, and I can't wait to do the Run for the Bagel with them this coming Saturday! FitGirls is inspiring me to run on my own as well! (I ran 1.3 miles last night) And that's something I never thought I would say.

Well, I'm finally back in town! Even though I love traveling and seeing all my friends and family, it feels nice one home and back in my own routine.

Dear Readers,

I'm writing to you from church camp (aka my absolute favorite place). I've been having an amazing time learning, making new friends, & getting competitive with Team Teal. (My pretty awesome team this year).

The food is delicious and they serve several fruits and/or veggies with every meal. Dear Readers,

I just got home from kids church camp where I volunteered in the kitchen all week. I had so much fun! I got to see all my friends, work hard doing something I care about, & sweet talk kids into eating fruits and veggies.
