I’m writing to you from Kentucky after spending the day with my wonderful family. This Christmas was awesome, as usual, because as everyone knows “there’s no place like home for the holidays”. Over the course of the past two days, I’ve been in three different states and spent time with an innumerable amount of cousins, all while attempting to kept my eating in check.
My mom and I are always looking out for each other, reminding one another “Remember- we’ll be eating again in an hour” and “If you want some of Granna’s ...

Attention: I AM OFFICIALLY ON CHRISTMAS BREAK! And I am so totally thrilled. Today was my last day of school this week, and now it’s time to relax! However, relaxing does not mean I will be skipping out on my trips to the Y. Those must continue throughout the break so I don’t have to be rolled back to school in January.
Since last week, I’ve been to the Y frequently, and one of the best times I had was with my good friend and “personal trainer” Hunter! We happened to show up at the ...

It’s Allie here! Can you even believe how close it’s getting to Christmas already? I’m so excited! I just got back from a workout at the Y, so I’m also excited about that! Tonight’s workout was great; I’m starting to feel stronger already.
This past week was “Fitness Week” in P.E.! If you don’t remember what that is, allow me to assist you. It is usually a tortuous week full of humiliating physical assessments performed in front of your classmates. However, this time was different. This time I showed “Fitness ...

Dear Readers, It’s me, Allie! I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! I know I did. I visited with family, had a girl’s night and sleepover with my long-time best friend, braved the crowds of Black Friday with my brother and cousins, and saw my grandparents, uncle, and cousin off on their mission trip to Uganda! It was great to catch up with everyone and to spend time in my hometown where we do things a little differently than up here in Mattoon. (I’m from Kentucky for those of you who don’t know ☺ ).
So after ...

Hey guys, It’s me, Allie! This week has been really great in every way possible. I’d like to give you some encouragement based off the success I’ve been experiencing!
So, I went to the Y four days in a row this week and OH MY GOSH- it was awesome! I feel great. Not only do I feel accomplished and proud of myself, but it puts me in a wonderful mood every time I go. Getting on the elliptical or working out my arms makes feel like I can do anything and I feel totally stress free! I ...

Hey readers! It’s me, Allie, and I’m going to tell you about my awesome week! New things are beginning and new things are around every corner.
So, this week, my dad cooked the sunshine squash we got at the pumpkin patch! He is a pretty creative guy, and he decided to make it into soup as opposed to baking it in the oven. The soup was totally AMAZING. My dad is a really great cook, and he always likes to try new things in the kitchen. Now, he can be pretty secretive about his recipes, but I’ll ...

It’s me, Allie! I’m writing to you this week to tell you that I’ve been going to the Y this week, and I’m feeling the effects already. Like I said last week, you need to make yourself believe you can do it and it gives you a sense of empowerment!
I’ve accomplished a lot of things I didn’t think I could do, just by trying them! Every time I’ve gone to work out these past two weeks, I have made myself to 100 sit-ups on the abdominal bench. I would never ...

Hi, readers! It’s me, Allie, and I have some super fun things to tell you about! Let’s begin with what I did this weekend, because that’s where the fun begins!
On Saturday, my mom, little sister, and I went to the pumpkin patch! I totally LOVE all things pumpkin-related, so you can bet I was excited! We went through some mazes, took some cute pictures, and saw all the animals there. However, all that pales in comparison to the booth where you get to sample squash! Okay, that probably didn’t sound all that exciting, but trust ...

Hey there, guys! It’s me, Allie. ☺ My first week of the “off season” (i.e. when I get me time) was composed of a lot less me time than I would have expected, unfortunately. I still had papers to write, Jazz Choir to attend and church to go to! But really, I don’t mind- I like being a little busy. ☺
This week I’d like to talk about what I recently learned about positive thinking. The math class I take at school (you might want to cry just by the title) is “Honors Dual Credit Pre-Calculus” and up ...

Wazzup, readers! It’s me, Allie! I’m back again - un-stressed and quite blessed. ☺ I’m here to tell you about my fabulous week and how stellar everything has been!
The fall play concluded last week and it really came together! I was so proud of the production, cast and crew! The fall play is fun, but not NEARLY as thrilling as the spring musical and that obviously means I’m counting down the days until we begin practicing for that. ☺ No more rehearsals means much more free time and I’m definitely enjoying the ability to finish my homework ...
