August 30, 2013 12:48 p.m.

Minor injuries and illnesses can be treated after regular office hours and over the weekend at the new Sarah Bush Lincoln Charleston Walk-In Clinic.

Charleston Clinic East, located at 2040 Lincoln Avenue in Charleston, will be open from 8 am to 4 pm, Sept. 4 to Sept. 6. It will begin its extended hours on Sept. 9, open from 8 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 3 pm, Saturday and Sunday. The phone number is 345-2030.

The clinic provides urgent care for people ages 6 months and older and features Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory services. People are treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone with a life-threatening illness or injury should go to the nearest emergency room.

The Walk-In Clinic is staffed by Stacia Cheadle, PA-C; Kelly Bryant, APN; Ashley Tennill, APN; Jolena Martin, PA-C; and Shawna Harris, APN. Family Practitioner Jaime Martinez, MD, will also care for people in the Walk-In Clinic until his office adjacent to the clinic is completed in October.

Construction began on the clinic in March in an effort to relieve the volume of people from the Charleston area seeking care at the Mattoon Walk-In Clinic.
