Center for Intervenional Pain

Center for Interventional Pain

While interventional pain medicine is a relatively new medical specialty, physicians and other medical practitioners have been working to understand, treat and eliminate pain for thousands of years. Interventional pain medicine uses injections and minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat the pain associated with specific, acute and chronic conditions.

The SBL Center for Interventional Pain brings advanced pain-fighting techniques and expertise to the people of East Central Illinois. It is home to two anesthesiologists with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of pain. These physicians work to eliminate pain without the use of narcotics and other addictive drugs.

Anesthesiologists Mohamed El-Ansary, M.D., FIPP, and Ragai Mitry, M.D., treat patients at the center. The Center for Interventional Pain also has four registered nurses on staff who have vast experience and a special interest in helping patients manage their pain.
