Clinical Significance

Rapid method for the diagnosis of blastomycosis by antigen detection.

Sensitivity is greatest in urine, but antigen also may be detected in other body fluids. Antigen decline with therapy and increase with relapse, offering a method to monitor the effect of treatment and diagnose relapse.
