Support groups are offered by Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center to help provide people with similar concerns. The locations of all programs are posted daily in the Main Lobby of the Health Center. The facilitator listed at the end of each description below may be contacted for more information and for meeting locations.
A.W.A.K.E. of Central Illinois
6 to 8 pm first week of March, June, and October. A local mutual help group for persons suffering from sleep disorders, primarily sleep apnea. Open to the public. Contact the SBL Sleep Disorders Center at 238-4908.
Diabetic Support Group
7 p.m., fourth Tuesday of the month in March, June, September and December, Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education at Sarah Bush Lincoln. The support group is free and open to anyone affected by diabetes. To register, or for more information, call Sarah Bush Lincoln Food and Nutrition Services at 258-2130.
1 to 2:30 p.m. third Thursday of each month at Prairie Pavilion II (top of stairs, first room on left) on the campus of Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. A support group is intended for anyone grieving the death of a loved one. Parent2Parent - New Parents Support Group
6 to 7 p.m., first Tuesday of each month at SBL. Support group for expectant and new parents who desire to interact with other parents and their children. Kids ages birth through five years are welcome. A variety of speakers present information parents and small children will benefit from throughout the year. Never a fee and pre-registration is not required. Usually meets in the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education Center at Sarah Bush Lincoln. Ostomy Support Group
7 p.m., second Thursday of even-numbered months at Sarah Bush Lincoln and 7 p.m. the second Thursday of odd-numbered months at St. Anthony's in Effingham. Pathways Through Grief
7 to 9 p.m. first Wednesday of the month in the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education at SBL. The group is open to anyone who has lost a loved one. For more information, contact Lincolnland Hospice, at (800) 454-4055.
Polio Survivors and Friends of East Central Illinois
1 to 3 p.m. first Saturday of the month in the SBL Education Center. Does not meet January or February. For more information, contact Annie Barber, at 348-2196 or 345-1549.
First Aid for Emergencies & Adult & Pediatric CPR
