Finally got my glasses and pedometer together and got it set. Then went for a 50-minute walk. When I got home my pedometer said I walked .07 miles. That didn't seem right so I got in my van, put the trip meter on and drove my route. I actually walked 3 miles. So back home, I check out the pedometer and it seems I got a couple of things backwards; I had entered that it took eight steps for me to go 1.5 feet. Oops.
I decided to replace my old blender and got a really fancy smoothie machine that makes snow out of ice. It is a Ninja and works great for the shakes I make for my program. As I was cleaning the blade, I discovered it is sharp as it seemed I barely touched it and it took a hunk out of my right thumb. I was just glad I didn't lick it.
I ended up walking the perimeter of Neoga that is west of the railroad twice, or six miles. I have walked it before, but until I was on the weight management plan did not notice all the signs....Patty Cakes and More, Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Casey's Pizza and my favorite was the ice cream sale sign at the IGA. All the food signs make me think of what my cousin Paula told me. She said buffet stands for Big Ugly Fat Friends Eating Together! Now that is a diet tip!
I also noticed with all the rain some of the yards have beautiful flowers. Some still have Christmas lights up. I thought wow those folks really are prepared. I also counted 24 rabbits and one flattened squirrel AKA PSD (Poor Squirrel Decision).
All in all I got all I was supposed to do for the weight management program for the day. Congrats to a Fairfield friend Ruth who has been walking with friends for a short while and had went down 3 pants sizes. Again thanks for all your kind words and if anyone needs a pedometer cheap, I have one....
To you from me, still In The Box.....
