Week 28

Happy New Year! So what is your New Year’s resolution? I love to make new resolutions, but somehow mine are always something that goes in one year and out the other.

Weigh-in Wednesday, due to the holiday, was changed to Monday. I am another 1.6 pounds down. Total for this program 61 pounds and since August 2012 a total of 91. I have a plan to continue what I am doing through January and in February transition fruits and vegetables back into my diet. I am also thinking of getting a new tattoo on my right arm…SHE WHO ENDULGES - BULDGES. I haven’t decided what font.

To end 2013, I ran in the Frozen 5-K race sponsored by the Neoga Booster Club as number 88. I started the race with three goals:

1. Don’t freeze to death.

2. Finish the race.

3. Improve my time from when I ran in Wayne City’s Bean Day’s race in September.

I met all three. I was able to cut almost four minutes off my last (only) race. After the race I thought of an old joke, a woman asked her husband after a race, “What do you love the most about me: My tremendous athletic ability or my superior intellect?” His response was, “What I love most about you is your running sense of humor.” BTW: I finished 106 out of 120+ entries and got a cute t-shirt. With that finish, it gives me a new goal for next year…repeat this year's goal # 1, 2 and 3.  

I love my new Fitbit Activity Monitor. I think I finally have it synced to my phone. I should get physical activity points for brain strain for doing just that task. The only thing I don’t like about the bracelet monitor, is that the closure prong doesn’t hold very well and it has fallen off several times. I visited Wal-Mart and got the handyman’s second best solution to duct tape…Velcro and tried to “fix” it, but I haven’t been successful. If anyone has any ideas please send them to me.

My daughter, Emily, is using her Fitbit and is tracking activity, calories in and out and has had a very good weight loss since September. Her postings on Facebook keep me inspired.

I will make a New Year’s resolution for 2014, I am going to give up my favorite food…seconds.
