Week 26 and 27
Yikes! It’s been two weeks jammed with all kinds of fun at the Weaver house.
In December, my husband takes Santa pictures at the Mattoon mall and I am his Elf, aka assistant. I am the poser, printer and the wacky woman who tries to get kids to smile while they are sitting on Santa’s lap. I have had this position for the last 10 years or so and it is a lot of fun to see the kids. Some of them are so excited they run to Santa, while others are excited in the car on the way, but upon arrival they want nothing to do with Santa especially if they are 2 years old.
This year there were lots of requests for puppies/kittens. One cute little kid told Santa in a very firm voice, “I want a kitty and a puppy and this year they better be real.” Some of the kids had names picked out. I was thinking about some of the names and had a little laugh as more than likely some of the names will be the answer to security questions for the rest of their lives.
Last week my Fit Bit Force Activity monitor arrived. It was as advertised. It is easy to charge, program and seems fairly accurate. It tracks steps, calories, flights of stairs climbed, distance, and you can log your food diary and other things too. Since I have had it I have walked 108,383 steps. I wear it at work, and most days walk more than four miles there alone. You can even set it for when you sleep and it will tell you how many hours/minutes of good sleep you have.
Since I posted last, I have had two weigh-ins and have lost a total of 2.6 more pounds. This past Sunday I had “I need daylight” fever in a bad way. With the short daylight hours, I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. So Sunday I got bundled up as it was cold out and thought I would go for a jog. Let me give you some sound advice. Do not, I repeat, do not drink a lot of fluid before you go very far from home. About half way from home I had the “urge.” At the time I was close to the high school, so I thought I could find a “place” there and get some “relief.” The problem was that this is winter and there is no “cover” around the high school and in addition to that, the back of the school faces the I-57 and it is close enough I could see people in the vehicles. I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I thought, hey, if I can see them that good, they can see……..Also, I’m not certain, but I think I saw security cameras around the roof. I decided I had to suck it up so to speak and get to the closest public bathroom ASAP. It is with great “relief” that I am able to report that I slid into the restroom at Casey’s in the nick of time. Today I went for another jog, minus the pre liquids, and made 6.8 miles.
Love means never having to say anything because you are both too busy looking at your smart phones.
