So this past weekend I went to Theatre Fest with my drama club! It was pretty great and included basically all of my favorite things rolled into a thrilling adventure with some of my best friends. The group I spent most of my time with saw a total of 7 productions, and unfortunately only went to one (full) class. I actually was planning on trying something called “Yogalates”, (a combination of yoga and pilates), but I couldn’t talk anyone into going with me. Apparently, exercise wasn’t on the top of anyone’s priority list.
However, everything turned out alright because- SURPRISE! My mom happened to come to my P.E. class on Monday and bring with her not only a Zumba instructor, but a yoga instructor as well! I ended up getting to learn some yoga, like I wanted to, and I’m pretty sure Zumba is one of the most fun exercises known to man! It went over really well with the people in my class too! Well, at least the girls. While we were all putting on our extremely cute P.E. uniforms, I overheard a lot of girls complaining about having to do Zumba and yoga, but once we got back down to the locker room at the end of class, everyone was going on about how they wished we could do them every day!
In other news, the torture of passing up desserts all weekend and choosing Caesar salads over pasta has really been paying off. I can tell a difference in my body, and apparently other people can too, because I’ve gotten several positive comments lately. I’m not to my goal weight yet, but I’m certainly on my way there. I’m also really proud of my will power (it’s getting stronger!) and I’m getting some of my confidence back.
On that note, I’ll leave you until next week, and think about giving Zumba a try; it really is awesome!
