I just got home from kids church camp where I volunteered in the kitchen all week. I had so much fun! I got to see all my friends, work hard doing something I care about, & sweet talk kids into eating fruits and veggies.
The rest of the kitchen helpers were teasing me about sounding like a mom, but I genuinely wanted them to be healthy! My favorite response when kids turned down veggies was, "Are you sure? Not even one?" And I would have kids come up to me later to tell me that they ate their baby carrot or celery stick. One girl had two servings of green beans! She thought it was so funny that I gave her two servings that she came through my line and let me serve her all week!
I also ran a game with my friend Audrey and we taught kids about the importance of getting enough water while we refereed amoeba ball! To sum it up, this week was amazing. Exhausting, yes. But totally worth it. I love to share my heart about health and my faith with people, and this week was a great opportunity to do that! Next week I'll be at my own camp, eating all the veggies the kitchen staff can serve! :)
