So the shoes that I showed you last week? I thought you'd be interested to know that those were my first new pair of tennis shoes in five years! Not that my parents refused to get me any new ones, but every time we went back to school shopping I would refuse to look at tennis shoes, insisting I keep the same pair as long as I could get some more cute clothes. That just shows how much my priorities had changed within the last year!
Now that there's only one week until school starts, I've been thinking back on how my summer went, and I've realized that contrary to what I thought, it's harder to fit in fitness during the summer than it is during the school year. (Mostly because I've been gone for about 5 weeks!) But realizing that has shown me that I can't wait for a "better time" to work on getting healthy, because there may not be a "better time".
Making the choice to fit in fitness no matter what I have going on is important. I can't do what I did about getting new tennis shoes, and put it off so I can make room for other things, because when you finally make room for fitness it feels even better than new clothes! (And that's saying something).
