Sarah Bush Lincoln donated $9,140 to area athletic booster clubs from sports physicals performed over the summers.
SBL medical providers and staff members donated their time to benefit the athletic booster programs at area schools by providing numerous sports and school physicals at reduced costs to athletes and students. The sports physicals were $20 each and all the proceeds were donated back to the participating student’s school booster club.
Donations to area athletic booster clubs included: Arthur - $700; Charleston - $660; Cumberland - $1,340; Effingham High School - $400; Effingham St. Anthony - $1,140; Mattoon - $1,200; Newton - $1,100; St. Thomas - $200; Shelbyville - $1,400; Sullivan - $320; Teutopolis - $420, and Tuscola - $260. In Neoga, SBL providers performed free school and sports physicals.
