SBL Lifts Temporary Visitor Restrictions

March 27, 2024 7:57 a.m.

Sarah Bush Lincoln removed the temporary visitor restrictions that were put in place in the fall when respiratory illnesses were on the rise.

The rates of influenza and other respiratory disease, hospitalizations, such as RSV & COVID-19, are declining across Illinois, according to Illinois Department of Public Health. However, respiratory illnesses are still circulating and influenza season can last until May. The Influenza Activity Level in Illinois is currently at a “low” level according to the most recent CDC Surveillance Report.

Sarah Bush Lincoln highly encourages people to continue to protect their health and the health of SBL patients by staying home if they are not feeling well. Children and older adults and those whose immune systems are compromised are most at risk for becoming ill.

Hand sanitizer is available throughout the Health Center and inside each patient room. Visitors are asked to use it as they enter and exit the room in a greater effort to protect the patient and themselves.
