This is an excellent course for preparing the little people already in your household for a new baby!  Bring: Child in pajamas with one pillow, one blanket and a baby doll, teddy bear or other stuffed toy to practice holding a baby. Women who have a planned or unexpected cesarean birth usually have this type of anesthesia. That is why it is important for everyone delivering at Sarah Bush Lincoln to attend. Anesthesiologist Virginia Price, MD, will explain in terms you can understand, the procedures, advantages and disadvantages. Perinatal education coordinator Pamela Hood will provide additional helpful information so you can make an educated choice along with your doctor regarding this pain medication option. Whether you are thinking about an epidural or intrathecal for labor pain, or you perfer not to use either of the regional pain methods, you might still be faced with using this medication in the event of an unplanned cesarean birth. The course is offered once a month on the first Tuesday of the month. A Health Care Provider Course is also offered once monthly for students who must have the training for allied health careers or other job requirements. The initial moments and actions taken when cardiac arrest occurs are the most critical to improving survival rates. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a person. This course is designed to enhance your skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest through active participation in a series of simulated cardiopulmonary cases. ACLS Provider course is a two-day course. The recertification course is a one-day course and is offered at two different times on the day of class. This class is important for any expectant mother who may wish to have an epidural or intrathecal (another type of pain relief medication) during her labor. Women who have a planned or unexpected cesarean birth usually have this type of anesthesia. That is why it is important for everyone delivering at Sarah Bush Lincoln to attend. Anesthesiologist Virginia Price, MD, will explain in terms you can understand, the procedures, advantages and disadvantages. Perinatal education coordinator Pamela Hood will provide additional helpful information so you can make an educated choice along with your doctor regarding this pain medication option. Whether you are thinking about an epidural or intrathecal for labor pain, or you perfer not to use either of the regional pain methods, you might still be faced with using this medication in the event of an unplanned cesarean birth. Our anesthesiologists want every expectant mother and her partner to attend. Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Recert

This program teaches medical personnel to take care of cardiac emergencies that may be present in the acute care setting. Heart disease affects millions of people every year and makes up a significant number of patients seen in health care, so training in handling cardiac emergencies is a necessity. The program is designed for physicians, nurses, paramedics, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists. It's also a required course for paramedics in our EMS system as well as nurses in our critical care unit and emergency department. First-time students take a two-day course, while those seeking recertification enroll in a one day course. It is an American Heart Association course and is taught by SBLHC instructors. Women who have a planned or unexpected cesarean birth usually have this type of anesthesia. That is why it is important for everyone delivering at Sarah Bush Lincoln to attend. Anesthesiologist Virginia Price, MD, will explain in terms you can understand, the procedures, advantages and disadvantages. Perinatal education coordinator Pamela Hood will provide additional helpful information so you can make an educated choice along with your doctor regarding this pain medication option. Whether you are thinking about an epidural or intrathecal for labor pain, or you perfer not to use either of the regional pain methods, you might still be faced with using this medication in the event of an unplanned cesarean birth. Infant Child CPR

Class content includes: standards in infant child CPR from the American Heart Association. While this class is taught by a certified CPR instructor, it does not certify the class participant. This community course is offered to lay public providers who either need CPR training for a career or for those who want to take it for personal enrichment. The course is offered once a month on the first Tuesday of the month. A Health Care Provider Course is also offered once monthly for students who must have the training for allied health careers or other job requirements. Big Brother, Big Sister Pajama Party Sibling Class

Class content includes: a discussion of basic baby dos and don’ts, movie, photo-op and more.
