The Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation received a $500 donation from Washington Savings Bank that will assist patients seeking care at the SBL Heart Center.

Throughout February, people who visited a Washington Savings Bank location in Mattoon or Lerna could purchase a heart for $1, and on it, they could write their name or that of a loved one to show support of those with cardiac issues.

The fundraiser’s proceeds will assist patients of the SBL Heart Center and cardiac rehabilitation who struggle to pay for costs associated with treatment, including the purchase of scales for recently discharged heart failure patients who need to monitor their weight at home, but can’t afford to purchase one themselves.
