SBL Dental Services hosts Learning Labs for Children

May 28, 2013 3:03 p.m.

Sarah Bush Lincoln Dental Services is hosting free Learning Labs in three different locations in June for children entering first, second or third grades next fall.

The Learning Labs will be held from 9 to 11 am on the following dates at the locations indicated; Tuesday, June 11, at the Greenup Municipal Building; Monday, June 17 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 701 W. North 3rd St., Shelbyville; and Tuesday, June 25, at the Sullivan Public Library.

The free event will include fun interactive lessons, games, healthy snacks and cool experiments that focus on maintaining a healthy mouth. The Learning Lab teaches children about proper brushing and flossing, the importance of preventive care, visiting the dentist regularly, the benefits of eating nutritious foods, and the health risks of plaque and tooth decay. Dental decay is the most common childhood illness and most easily preventable.

Parents can register their children by calling SBL Dental Services at (217) 345-3555 or 877-511-2602 (toll free). Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.
