Be Active at Community Health Event

October 31, 2014 9:32 a.m.

In recognition of National Home Health and Hospice month in November, Lincolnland Home Care and Hospice of Sarah Bush Lincoln and Health Alliance Medicare are hosting an interactive health event.

The health event, Be Active, will be held from 8 to 10 am, Friday, Nov. 7, at the Cross County Mall in the former Sam Goody store. The public is encouraged to attend.

The interactive event will feature a free coffee bar, and the opportunity to “ask the experts” about interesting health and health-related topics such as: core strength building, joint replacement, arthritis, wound care, medications, fraud tactics, Medicare answers, diabetes, relaxation techniques, sleep, advance directives, and lots more!

Participants are encouraged to bring their questions for the experts to answer. Lincolnland Home Medical Equipment will have home equipment onsite that participants can experience.

“Getting active and staying active is incredibly important. That means staying active as much physically as mentally. This free event will present ways individuals can remain active even if they have limited mobility,” Dan Holste, Post Acute Care Director said. “We’re pulling together several experts that can answer your questions about activity levels, how to stay healthy throughout the winter and how to look out for fraud.”
