SBL To Build New Walk-In Clinic

July 11, 2016 9:37 a.m.

With the recent purchase of land on the east side of Mattoon, Sarah Bush Lincoln has set the plans in place to build a new Walk-In Clinic.

Sarah Bush Lincoln purchased land for $106,500 just south of its current Walk-In Clinic at Mattoon Marketplace. The new facility will double the size of the clinic and better accommodate the volume of people who seek medical care at this location.

SBL Vice President of Practice Management Jerry Esker said, “Since we opened the Walk-In Clinic in 2012 at Mattoon Marketplace, we’ve experienced tremendous growth going from a little more than 5,000 patient visits a year to nearly 20,000 patient visits a year. This site has only five exam rooms for three medical providers and the lobby isn’t large enough to accommodate the number of people seeking care.”

The lease at Mattoon Marketplace runs through July 2017.

The new facility will be approximately 5,000 square feet and cost roughly $2 million to build. Construction will begin in the fall and take about eight months to complete. Utz and Associates is the architect on this project. Its new address will be 200 Dettro Drive.
