June 8, 2016 9:55 a.m.

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation will host its 27th Annual Golf Benefit this Friday at the Mattoon Golf & Country Club. Net proceeds from the event will benefit construction of Sarah Bush Lincoln’s new Regional Cancer Center. With its Building Hope Campaign, the Health Foundation has made a commitment to raise $3.5 million to support construction of the $15.4 million project.

Golf teams will participate in morning and afternoon flights, with 25 teams scheduled for the morning flight and 36 in the afternoon. A continental breakfast will be available during morning registration, which begins at 6:30 am, prior to the 7:30 am tee time. Lunch will be served from 11 am to 2 pm. Registration for the afternoon flight will begin at 11:30 am with a 1 pm tee time.

Prizes will be awarded to winners of challenges on each of the 18 holes during an evening reception from 6 to 8 pm in the clubhouse. Prizes include gift certificates, furniture, St. Louis Cardinals baseball tickets, Chicago Bulls basketball tickets, Illinois football tickets, NASCAR tickets, and outdoor living/patio items.

Additionally, the lucky winner of a raffle will win a seven day/six night trip to Maui, Hawaii. Tickets for this raffle can be purchased for $10 each during the Golf Benefit, or two for $10 from the Foundation office prior to Friday. You need not be present at the reception to win. A note of special thanks is extended to Doug and Tracey McCord for the generous donation of their Hawaii home.
