Athletic Programs Benefit from SBL Sports Physicals

Sarah Bush Lincoln donated $9,440 to area athletic booster clubs from sports physicals performed over the summers. 

SBL medical providers and staff members donated their time to benefit the athletic booster programs at area schools by providing numerous sports and school physicals at reduced costs to athletes and students in our seven-county service area.

Medical providers who volunteered their time included: Robert Thain, MD, Amanda Bramham, MD, Marlene Kremer, MD, and Kimberly Peery, APN, of Family Medical Center in Mattoon; Joan Alvarado, MD, Mark Emenecker, DO, and Erica Perrino, MD, of Charleston Family Practice; Robert Biggs, MD, and Terra Cottrill, APN, of SBL Arcola Clinic; Tammy Munch, PA-C, and Jackie Clayton, DNP, of SBL Sullivan Clinic; Doris Bowers, MD, and Gary Hayden, PA-C, of SBL Shelbyville Clinic; Diana Oakley, APN, of SBL Casey Clinic; Keith Ballinger, PA-C, of SBL Toledo Clinic; Michelle Fulton, APN, and Michele Kinder, APN, of SBL Newton Clinic, and Janice Vandeveer, MD, and  Iven Boehm, PA-C, of SBL Neoga Clinic.

The sports physicals were $20 each and all the proceeds were donated back to the respective school’s booster clubs. They included Arcola, $820; Casey, $1,120; Charleston, $860; Cumberland, $760; Mattoon, $1,340; Newton, $2,220; St. Thomas, $380; Shelbyville, $680; and Sullivan, $1,260. In Neoga, SBL providers performed 63 free school and sports physicals.
