First Baptist Willing Hands Kids Club Assembles Boxes for Children at SBL

May 10, 2019 10:10 a.m.

The First Baptist Church, Mattoon, Willing Hands Kids Club assembled 24 gift boxes for children who are hospitalized at Sarah Bush Lincoln. Kids Club members, from grades first to sixth, sought donations from church congregation members to fill the boxes as part of a service project.

Courtney Hanner, who leads the group with her mother, Cindy Moran, said, “This group of kids had fun putting these boxes together and they used their creativity to make them special. I am so privileged to be able to work with these kids and see just how giving their hearts are.” The gift boxes each contained a coloring book, crayons, slinky, play-doh and a small stuffed lion.
