October 14, 2019 2:31 p.m.

The 12th annual Volley for A Cure match between Mattoon and Charleston High School volleyball teams generated $3,425 for Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Regional Cancer Center. Charleston and Mattoon volleyball players raised funds through sponsorships and by selling “Volley For A Cure” t-shirts, which also raised awareness about breast cancer and reminded women to get their annual mammograms scheduled. Since 2008, the two teams have raised $44,314 in support of people fighting cancer.
