Pink Out Volleyball Game Nets Donation for SBL Regional Cancer Center

October 9, 2019 7:59 a.m.

Cumberland and Tri-County High School volleyball teams raised $1,500 during their inaugural “Pink-out” game at Cumberland High School on October 1. All proceeds will benefit people fighting cancer at Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center. The money was raised though sponsorships and pink t-shirts sales, which players and fans wore during the game.

“So many of us have family members of friends that have been affected by breast cancer,” said Jennie Stults, who is assisting with the team during Cumberland head coach’s pregnancy. “This match was a great opportunity for us to rally together to play for something bigger than ourselves.” Stults also works as a nurse in the SBL Regional Cancer Center.
