Washington Savings Bank in Mattoon recently donated $356 to Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Heart Center to help uninsured patients who struggle to pay for items such as medications, accurate scales to monitor heart failure symptoms, blood pressure cuffs and more. Bank employees raised funds by selling red, pink and white hearts for $1 to employees and customers. The customers/employees were able to write their names on the hearts that were displayed in the bank’s lobby from February 1 to 14 in recognition of American Heart Month in February.

Washington Savings Bank employees are pictured presenting the check to SBL Heart Center Exercise Physiologist Lori Richardson: (front row, left to right) Tabby Day, Kay Horn, Tami Wells, Karen Littleton, Lori Richardson and Candy Clark; (back row) Terry Reel.
