Evapco Midwest in Greenup recently donated $3,000 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation to assist patients in the Regional Cancer Center.

Employees at Evapco used a few different means to raise the money. The company held a t-shirt design contest, and t-shirt sales accounted for some of the money raised. On Wednesdays, employees could donate $1 or more and wear jeans around the office for the day, and some employees donated on their own accord.

Evapco General Manager Mike Giannavola said Evapco also donated a portion of the $3,000. “Employees really rallied to donate and help out,” he said. “Getting everyone involved to be part of something special is great, and getting so many involved makes a real difference.”

Jeff Hale, pressure boundary welder, designed this year’s Evapco cancer awareness t-shirts. On the front, they say, “Team Evapco, No One Fights Alone,” and on the back, the word “Fight” is featured with boxing gloves. He said he was proud to win the design contest and see how Evapco employees have bought them in bulk.

Evapco’s generosity is familiar to SBL, as the company has donated to the Regional Cancer Center in the past. Giannavola said Evapco always looks for ways to support its local communities and is happy to help.
