The Mattoon and Charleston high school volleyball teams recently donated $2,800 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation, to benefit the Regional Cancer Center. The teams’ donation will be used to help people who are unable to pay for items associated with their care while undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation.

The teams raised funds through their annual ‘Volley for a Cure’ game. Since 2013, the teams have donated more than $38,000 to assist patients in the SBL Regional Cancer Center.

SBL Special Events Officer Kim Lockart said she is thankful for the continued support from the volleyball teams. “It’s inspiring how much help these local teams have garnered for people receiving treatment at the Regional Cancer Center,” she said. “We’re grateful to have such amazing support from our community.”
