SBL Clinical Education Earns PTAP Distinction

September 26, 2025 11:14 a.m.

Sarah Bush Lincoln recently earned Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) reaccreditation with distinction from the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC).

PTAP sets the standard for nurse residency programs to demonstrate excellence in supporting new graduate nurses in their transition from student nurse to Registered Professional Nurse.

Our program is a one-year program, and we provide support for these nurses during their first year as a registered nurse at SBL,” SBL Clinical Education Manager Jan Waymoth said. “The stories we submitted for this application were gathered from nurse residents in our program during the last four years.”

SBL first earned accreditation in 2021. For this application for accreditation with distinction, SBL Clinical Education included additional evidence to show that SBL’s program demonstrates “exemplary and innovative practice.”

“We are honored to earn the accreditation with distinction,” Waymoth said. “We strive to offer excellent training to our nurses in the program, and this distinction shows that we are not only helping student nurses take that next step, but are also preparing them well.”
