Legacy Society – friends of the future

The Legacy Society honors those who choose to make the Sarah Bush Health Foundation part of their estate plan. Their names are also displayed on the Legacy Recognition Wall in the Health Center.

Membership in the Legacy Society is quite simple. All that is required is a written indication from you or your professional advisor that you have included the Foundation in a planned gift arrangement. There are nearly 100 members in this exclusive society.

Inner Circle Recognition Dinner

Each year, donors who have given $1,000 or more during that year are honored at the Inner Circle Recognition Dinner. Those who have reached new levels of cumulative giving and new members to the Legacy Society receive special recognition at this event.

Hospice Memorial Garden

A gift to the Hospice Memorial Garden can help memorialize your friend or loved one. A memorial gift of $1000 will honor your loved one by placing an engraved granite stone with your loved one’s name in the Hospice Memorial Garden at the Health Center. The Memorial Garden is located on the northwest corner of the Health Center campus, near the Emergency Room.

Your gift will be used to assist Lincolnland Hospice programs including Grant-A-Wish, bereavement counseling, and assistance to those without resources.

The Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation will send notice of your thoughtful gift to the family of the person you are memorializing. You will receive notification of your gift and a charitable receipt for tax purposes.

Windows to Heaven

Windows to Heaven, located in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Chapel, is a series of beautifully handcrafted windows from which an artist’s rendition of the brilliant night sky filled with stars can be seen. For $30, a star can be purchased which will contain the name of a child who has died. Children need not be born at Sarah Bush Lincoln to have a star hung in their honor and their deaths need not be recent.

Funds raised from the purchase of the stars will go toward memory boxes for parents who have lost children, bereavement services including literature and support; footprint pins and special gifts for siblings.

Tree of Life

The Tree of Life, located in the Regional Cancer Center, memorializes friends and loved ones. For a gift of $1,000, a “leaf” may be purchased and can be engraved according to the donor’s wishes as a lasting tribute. Each contributor will be acknowledged and will receive a charitable receipt for their gift.
