SBL Hosts Free Mini Trager Massages

April 8, 2014 2:27 p.m.

Do you have muscle tension or pain? In recognition of National Trager Day, Sarah Bush Lincoln Massage Therapy will perform free mini massages using the Trager Technique on April 21.

The Trager approach is a combination of gentle hands-on tissue mobilization, relaxation and soothing passive movements done in a pain-free range. The second aspect is Mentastics, which are movements taught to the client to do on his/her own. It can be done to induce relaxation and/or to reduce pain and muscle tension.

Through this type of massage approach, clients get relief from pain, learn self awareness, ways to get their own muscles to relax, as well as providing tools to help them move through and control pain. It is especially helpful in the relief of chronic pain, and muscle discomfort.

A certified trager practitioner will perform mini massages from 5:30 to 8 pm on Monday, April 21, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Massage Therapy located in Physical & Occupational Therapy in Prairie Pavilion 2. No appointment is necessary. Clients will be served on a first come, first serve basis.

For more information on the free mini trager massages contact SBL Massage Therapy at 258-2530.
