SBL Job Shadow Program

Thank you for your interest in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Job Shadow program. Job shadowing can provide experiences that are as unique as every person who participates. Reaching any career goal takes a personal commitment. Every plan for tomorrow requires action today. Even if you have no idea what career is right for you, it is possible to begin preparing for the world of work.

The goal of job shadowing is to introduce you to the healthcare profession. If you are interested in healthcare as a career, we would like to give you the opportunity to job shadow a Sarah Bush Lincoln employee for some "on-the-job" insight. A job shadow opportunity allows students to "try on" a career for a few hours before investing dollars and time in education. Employees will not receive pay for job shadowing. Contact your leader for additional information or questions.

Please complete the following steps:
1. Download, fill out and upload Job Shadow Application
2. Compile health documents needed - if you are a current SBL employee, your health documents are not required.
(Print and scan all health documents A-D to one file and upload below.)

A. Proof of immunity to Rubella, Rubeola and Mumps, regardless of age.
1. Documented history of 2 MMR’s OR Documentation or positive Rubella,
Rubeola and Mumps titer

B. Proof of TB skin test done within the last 12 months with negative results.
1. If TB skin test positive, documented report of a negative chest x ray must be
on file. In addition, TB symptom survey must be on file and updated annually.

C. Proof of immunity to Varicella
1. Documented history of 2 Varicella vaccines or positive Varicella titre or
documented history (from a health care provider) of chicken pox or shingles.

D. Proof of influenza vaccination for the current influenza season for observers
who are in a SBLHS facility for at least one day of their observational period
during the current flu season.
