After more than a year of planning and anticipating, Sarah Bush Lincoln broke ground Wednesday, April 15, 2015 for its new Regional Cancer Center.
The freestanding Regional Cancer Center will offer comfort, privacy and space to its patients. Construction should take about 18 months.
Land was recently purchased for the construction of a new SBL Casey Clinic, replacing an old and inefficient building that has housed the clinic for more than two decades.
Sarah Bush Lincoln broke ground in late summer for a clinic on land it owns along US 36 in Tuscola in front of the Tanger Outlet Mall.
It will feature primary care, a walk-in clinic with extended hours in the evening and on the weekend, occupational medicine, laboratory and diagnostic imaging.
2 East is receiving a major renovation to update the 22-bed unit into single occupancy rooms, which will be used by medical and surgical adult patients. The rooms will have the same amenities and look and feel as the newly remodeled adult patient rooms.
Construction began July 6 and it will take approximately 18 months to complete.
The 3-West construction project began mid-July, 2015. In addition to bringing the unit up to the standards that we have on other nursing units, we are focusing on implementation of several safety features. This includes moving the nurse’s station to the west end of the unit.
The Women & Children's Center is home to Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics and Gynecology patients. It is undergoing a renovation, along with the east end of the second floor, which totals $7 million. The complete project is expected to take about two years to complete.
