At Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Center for Interventional Pain, our goal is to improve a person’s quality of life by alleviating pain as much as possible. We take the time to investigate the cause of a person’s pain, and find the best approach to eliminating or managing it.
Diagnosing Your Pain
When you first visit the Center for Interventional Pain, we will review your medical history and perform a physical examination. We will also perform a more comprehensive evaluation to better understand the source of your pain. Our goal in treatment is to find the underlying cause of pain rather than masking it with medication.

Treatment
Once the source of your pain is diagnosed, we will be able to initiate a course of treatment specific for you. Interventional pain medicine uses injections and minimally invasive procedures to treat pain associated with acute and chronic conditions. The Center for Interventional Pain offers people in East Central Illinois the most up-to-date diagnostic and therapeutic treatments in pain medicine.

Insurance and Referral Process
The Center for Interventional Pain only accepts people who are referred by another healthcare provider. We accept Medicare and Medicaid, and most insurance plans cover our services. We will gladly confirm this with your insurance carrier at your appointment.
What to Bring
If your primary care provider is not a Sarah Bush Lincoln provider, please bring a copy of your medical record, a list of allergies and current medications, and any X-rays or MRIs you have had taken. You are welcome to bring someone along on your first appointment to listen to what the doctor may explain, and help take notes and ask questions.
