Rhonda Strobel, RN, BSN
As the Bariatric Care Coordinator, Rhonda Strobel, RN, BSN, is the first point of contact for anyone interested in pursuing bariatric surgery. With a passion for patient education, Rhonda helps guide people on their weight loss journey, from helping schedule appointments and coordinating insurance to pre-operative and post-operative care. “I like patient interaction and education, whether it’s on the phone or in-person. As a former ER nurse, where everything happened quick with limited time for education, this role allows me the opportunity to help people meet their long-term goals and celebrate their successes,” Strobel explained.
Strobel also leads a support group for bariatric surgery patients. The group meets the third Tuesday of the month at the Center for Healthy Living conference room. Participants can attend in-person on via Zoom. “People are free to talk about whatever is on their mind from recipes to successes and challenges after surgery,” she explained. A monthly newsletter helps participants engage in information and education. Each edition includes information from members of the bariatric team, recipes, meals, and wellness tips and more.
